Cyprus EU Blue Card

 

The Cyprus EU Blue Card is a residence and work permit specially created for highly skilled non-EU nationals in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT), pharmaceutical and maritime industry/shipping sectors.

The Cyprus EU Blue Card can apply under the following conditions:

  • The applicant must find work in one of the following sectors of the economy: Information and Communication Technology (ICT), pharmaceutical research, or the maritime industry/shipping.
  • The applicant must possess a minimum gross annual salary of at least €43,632.
  • The applicant must possess a higher education degree (3+ years) or equivalent professional experience.
  • The Blue Card application process takes about 90 days.

The Cyprus EU Blue Card provides the following benefits:

  • Family reunification: Immediate family members can join the Blue Card holder and are permitted to work.
  • EU passporting & mobility: Blue Card holders can move to other EU states for work after 12 months and apply for a new Blue Card, with improved residency rights (excluding Denmark and Ireland).
  • Permanent residency & citizenship: The Blue Card gives access to application for permanent residency after 33 months and citizenship after five years, subject to conditions such as language proficiency.
  • Employment flexibility: The Blue Card allows cardholders to seek new employment during a 3–6 month unemployment period.
